spree problems wont run please help

I have a 1986 Honda Spree that will only start when my hand is covering the air intake. Then when it starts, it will only run for about 5 seconds.

Did you clean the carb yet?

Also, check the fuel passages by shining a light through them in a dark room to make sure they're clean/clear.

Ya i have cleaned the carb a few times and emptied the tank put in fresh gas and checked the petcock.
