what plug are you running? is it on a stock or modified engine? are you running the injector or premixin?

i hate to say it, but it sounds like a carb cleaning is in order. does it leak fuel from any of the overflow hoses? it kinda sounds like either the float is sticking or the needle and seat are not sealing. if your so inclined, pull the carb off, and with the bowl full of fuel, and try to blow into the fuel inlet. if you can, it means that either of those 2 things is happening. if you cant, then its working properly. if you take it apart, when the float is up, the valve should be closed, and nothing should flow through it. when the float is down, it lets fuel in until it reaches a preordained level, when the float floats to that level it closes the valve and no more fuel is allowed in. if too much fuel is getting in, it either goes out the overflow, unless its plugged, or if its plugged, straight up the main jet circuit into your motor.

Greetings:
Mine ran as you describe when a reed valve failed. I'd check there if the carb's good. As you probably know, the carb can look fine and seem fine on the bench but still run afoul if the needle's starting to stick intermittently in the float needle bore. I'd go for a new needle and polish up the float needle bore & seat if the reeds check out OK. My money's on a worn reed block, depending on mileage. I can make you 0.5mm carbon reeds.

Greetings:
My asking price is $0.42 for the stamp, plus your choice of Love Offering to WHAC*. Should be less than this:
http://www.provoscooter.com/scooters/ma ... -vino.html
You PayPal what you think it's worth to keep a cold sad scooter from crying itself to sleep every night. PM for PayPal address.
I need you to send me your stock metal reeds - best choice - or an accurate diagram or a cutout of them on cardboard to me. PM for mailing address. Your 0.4mm High Modulus Carbon reeds will be exactly like what you send me, so take care to be accurate - especially the little holes for the reed stop. I'll get to work as soon as I get your template/reeds.
Look up my post in WTB/For Sale if you want to see what they look like. They're very effective at improving low-midrange response even if they don't have an Italian name stamped on them. Silkscreening compromises integrity anyway.
