Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I can get Spree to start by spraying starter fluid into air intake, then kick starting it. It will run for 10-15 seceonds and quit. I drained and replaced gas & oil, new plug and cleaned carb, still no change. Any suggestions?

Take it easy on the starting fluid, you can easily melt the piston on these.

If it won't start the idle jet's not clean. Try pulling the choke partially out,remove screws and pull up, making sure not to pull it out past the o-ring. If it runs then the idle circuit still isn't clean. If the idle jet is still blocked try using a toothpick to clean.

Check the vacuum shut off valve too.

I assume you checked to see if there's gas in the carb by opening the carb bowl drain. How's the tank for rust?
