Scooter Heaven

Just got back from a long weekend in the Okefenokee Swamp in south GA. There is a 17 mile long dead end road that goes into the swamp with only a few dirt crossroads. There is almost no traffic on the road. We saw all of four cars during the whole ride.
My wife of 25 years never did ride with me until I bought here an '86 Spree last month. Her comment after her test drive, as she pulled the scoot onto the kickstand was, "Now that's a bike I can handle!" She's petite, and always had trouble getting our moped, a 1980 Motobecane, going. I'm not kidding, I can start my Moto by giving the decompression lever a squeeze and giving it a sharp push, I don't even have to pedal it, but it always defeated her and she gave up on the idea of scooting years ago.
The swamp was her first long ride, OUR first long ride. The Spree smoked some during the first mile, then cleared. I could hear her tentatively experiment with WOT, always backing down a little, like every noob does. Every time I pulled up beside her, she hollered, "Wheeeeeeeeeee!" Not bad for a demure Nurse Manager type. After 10 miles, we stopped and had a picnic on the side of the road under some Spanish moss. Then, back to camp.
I would have like to found out if the Spree or the Motobecane was faster, but that will wait for a future ride; she just was not yet comfortable at WOT. Smart gal: no one should ever ride faster than they want to. She is already planning our next scooter trip. Both bikes fit in the back of our minivan along with our camping gear. She put her Spree in by herself, lol. She's hooked and I'm happy!

So, I ask you all, what is your idea of Scooter Heaven? Where are the best scooter friendly roads in your area, and why do you consider them the best? What's the best day you ever had on a scoot?
