Noisy (I mean NOISY) speedo cable.. 1983 Honda Aero

So my original cable was just replaced as it was severed in the bend up the fork.
The new one arrived (nos) sheath, cable, caps- everything checked out fine.
My gear drives on the front wheel are clean and fine and the cable seems to operate fine also. When I installed it I sprayed and lubricated the cable with graphite grease, and drained some excess out after it spiked the speedometer cable up after about 20mph to the max position.

Heres the problem:
I took her out for a spin today, and again the cable speed is very very noisy almost louder than my scoot. And its coming from the speedometer itself.
The shrieking noise i assume is the cable, and originally I thought there was too much lubrication inside and it was adding pressure to the dial causing it to spike all the way up.
After a bit of driving, it went away. But when it cooled off this evening after 3 miles, it wouldnt stop.

Lets here some answers, so I can change the world.

could be the wheel bearing, spin the tire on the center stand, if it binds or doesn't spin free bearing is shot, i did have to change mine one time.

No definitely not the wheel bearing. As I said its strictly coming from the cable/speedo display. Ive had to end u disconnecting it. yikes.

Maybe its a pinch too long?

The mystery is building

Unhook the cable from your speedo, leave it bent up in about the same position, and then take it out and ride it.

If the cable is still making noise then you know its the cable.

If its not then its something in your speedo.
