2 stroke injector oil question

Post by DD50 »

i'd like to hear what injector oil brands folk here use or have used with good long tern results or any brands that resulted in problems. i've heard a few times not to use belray si-7 due to fouling issues.

most everyone here, myself included, run Honda GN2 injector oil, in the stock setup, i run klotz in my premix Aero, it smells good and ive had nothing but good luck with it in MX bikes...so, injector=GN2, premix=whatever you like...

I've always used Castrol GTX snowmobile oil, says right on the case good for injectors OR premix. I switched up to Coastal TC-W3 one time and burnt up a Spree. Since then I ONLY use the Castrol or Honda GN-2. The GN-2 is the best you can get, but the closest place to get GN2 here is an hour away, I can get the Castrol GTX for $4 at Advance Auto Parts.

Similar to Scooterwerx's results, the Castrol has a rather sweet smell to it.

I run Amsoil two stroke injector oil. Seems to be just fine, I have used it since last spring, I now have three Sprees and run it in all three and it doesnt seem to foul the plug any. My son has a Kawasaki 85cc two stroke dirt bike so I already had a gallon of the oil, plus my friends use it in their oil injected snowmobiles.
Im not a huge religious pusher of Amsoil, its just a good buddy is a dealer and talked me into using it for my race car, and after a long hard season the engine always look great after the teardown, so the stuff works a bit better than Mobil-1.
