Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

my spree slowed down pretty much over night, i usually got about 32 mph and all of the sudden its going 27 tops... i cleaned the spark plug, the air filter, and the carburetor.... i went to my local honda shop and the mechanic told me my piston was shot... could it possibly just be the piston rings, they have prolly been taking a beating because my muffler is broken off right at the motor...

Running w/o a muffler probably leaned out the engine and trashed your rings. It'll eventually trash your piston too.

the muffler is still there but its broken off right there.. i figured that it got hot right bout there and screwed up the rings..
