Workin on my '98 SA50P today I realized I did not have the split throttle cable going to the oil pump like on my SR50's

I went ahead and rigged it wide open, but wanted to confirm that was the best thing to do, thoughts?

Mods at the moment are exhaust and variator, more coming soon

sa50p sold restrict motor, that has smaller main jet, exhaust washer plate om muffler and a ramp thick plate restriction, back of high speed pulley, no oil cable

Sa50 , had bigger main jet, no washer on muffler, and oil pump cable.

Doesnt have a thick ramp plate, that cut down speed.

yup no cable, therefore oil pump is on lowest possible setting at all times.

I went ahead and tied it fully open since I recall Dac and others doing the same.

I was just curious about the main jet this morning, exactly what I needed to know as far as that goes thanks veedub!

yup veedub was correct. decided to check out the jet before heading to work today, luckily had a spare SR50 carb laying around.

SA50P main jet = 68

SA/SR50 main jet = 78

now howbout them oil pumpz :?:

just wire it open or eliminate it and pre mix.

done and done, oil pump tied to WO

I premix on my miniCorsa'd elite, trying to avoid it on this one ;)

if you took out the welded washer out in the exhaust, the 78 main is to small still.you have to bump it to a 85 or 88 jet.yes tie open the injector.

85 or 88 main at 50cc?? Can anyone else confirm this? sounds like main size you would run with 70cc..

my only current mods are YMS exhaust and OKO pulley with 7.5g net

78main seems fine, my jog had 76main, stock bore, stock carb & box and with a tec RS pipe worked good.

maybe you have to bump yours up because of elevation? I'm very close to sea level here

and brad thanks for the offer but I have a spare split cable, but will be going to fully adjustable for a carb upgrade in the future anyway so wiring pump open seems good to me :)

im running a 90 in my elite e with nb50 engine, it has the leo vince sp3 and a uni filter, it still looks a little lean too! the added rpms really get the fuel going, i guess. i found it necessary to increase the jet to an 85 just from the filter, and the pipe just made it scream, more rpms and i could tell it pulled way harder off the bottom. i dont know if derestricting a stock pipe would yield the same results, but an 85 sounds like a good starting point, im at 1300ft of elevation btw.....

right, but that is with open filter.. and yes 90 actually sounds pretty lean with that combo, 95-100 might be better

i'm at just pipe, vari and stock carb stock airbox with cut unifilter foam and don't plan on running open filter unless I go 70cc.
