Finally got time to get back into the spree. A little history: Bought it with a blown piston(ran out of oil) put one in, and about 8 miles later, and alot of patience trying to tune a carb that had float issues later, it stopped, and would not turn one bit. I then started tearing it apart, and found the wrist pin had come out and was stopping the piston up, my fault probably when I replaced the piston. the crank would spin a bit back and forth, but was sluggish in one spot, and would not turn past there. sepparated the case halves, found a few peices of the wrist pin retainer, and the crank spins freely. Put the halves back together, and NO SPIN!!!

Now to my diagnosis questions. Crank out of true, is this common? any other remedies? Could it be due to my home made case separator? FYI no impact tools used, just a socket set and a few wrenches. I tried to follow the manuals as close as possible, but I cant say I lived by them...

Thoughes suggestions appreciated.

The bearing could be binding a little.Get a dead blow hammer, put the nut on the ends and hit it a couple of times to release some tension on the bearing if it still doesn't spin than your going to have to take it apart again.

If the crank is out of true a hammer and a few blocks of wood(never hit the crank directly) will get it right.
