SE50 Elite Fuel dripping from Air filter

Please help oh guru's of the scooter.
I went for my first scooter ride with a local club. it was an effort to keep up, since every other scooter was atleast twice the cc, even with my 70cc polini upgrade.
Got back from the ride, about 45 miles and saw something dripping on to the clutch cover case. It was fuel from the air filter. I've read for about the last 40 min but can't find another thread with the same problem.
With the Variator and 70 cc kit you all recommended from Patrick (Daywot) I still only get 63 km/h (39mph) and I need to run wide open throttle to increase speed over anything above parking lot. @ make speed and WOT I maintain speed but drop speed if I let off at all. I would think that there is more power available because of this. Just didn't know if this info would help with the leaking fuel problem.
The Vespa crew were all over the scooter at the first stop. It felt good.
Thanks crew
Tony
