The Pal does have a variator correct? If so, changing out the weights on stock or even better buying a performance one will increase your top speed! Another option is to get bigger tires like 3.00 will squeeze out a few extra mph but at the cost of slower acceleration. There is a sticky on the top of the performance tech docs from keithw that goes into detail about making a pal quicker. Read that.

There are two pal engines. one has a variator and one does not. I sell a 44mm kit that will fit your scooter. If you have the pal with the varitor you can do some weight adjustments and add this kit and you will hit around 40mph. The pal(elite e) and the spree cylinder are the same.

Do you know if both versions were sold in Canada? Or just did Canadians just get the no variator version?tazland001 wrote:There are two pal engines. one has a variator and one does not.

Ok here is how this works. the honda pal, dio, pax are what they call grey market bikes. They where made for the Japanese market. But there are many companies in Japan that sell the old Jap bikes to other countries. Now in the USA the law is from the DOT you cannont import a scooter that does not conform to USA standards unless it is 25 years or older. So we use tricks to get them into the USA. I am not sure what the import laws are in canada, But I am pretty sure they where not made for the canadian market. I could be wrong about Canada, but I know I am right about the USA DOT laws. I have imported for over 15 years. I brought about 3000 grey market bikes from Japan into vegas and sold the * of em. Hope this helps.......
