Spree #1 in a two Spree series

Post by stooley13 »

Started the rebuild projects today! This is the First of two 1986 Sprees that had been sitting for 10 years that my Uncle and I are rebuilding. Got it fired up and it was * gas out of the overflow on the carb while running. When it is not running there aren't any leaks. Tomorrow I'll do the carb and petcock clean as detailed on the forum...any other ideas of what it could be or any suggestions on areas to pay particular attention to other than the float and making sure it is seated properly?

Thanks for any help and I'll keep you all updated with progress...I'll have a better camera for the rest of the pictures as well.

funny u said this. i worked on my beat up 86 spree today. finally after i got it started, it was leaking gas out the overflow. i just rebuilt the dam thing?! lol. i took the bowl off and found a tiny * wood sliver under the float needle. got it out and now runs like a charm. make sure u check your oil screen on your oil tank. i think they took a nice long ride in the desert on mine. lol.
