Spree won't start

Greetings all! I am having a heck of a time and I hope that someone can help, because I'm ready to pull my hair out with this one. I buy pieces and parts of sprees and make them whole and running just as a hobby, but this one has me stumped. My latest project has a spree with spark, with a good carb, and with gas that will not start. The exhaust port is clean, the carb is off a running spree, and all of my electronic parts have been switched with a running spree. The only thing that I can think of is that I have put this motor together from many different motors, and I replaced parts from different year motors. Does anyone know for sure if there are any parts that are NOT interchangable, or have any ideas of anything to check? ( I also have 125 pounds of compression because I put in a new top end)

Welcome,

You say that you have a good carb, but since you've switched it, have you cleaned it? there might be that little chance that when you switched a piece of dirt got in there or something and is clogging one of the jets!

Did you check the reed valves also? My spree showed 110 compression but would not start. I checked and found air filter fragments in the reed valves. Pulled the fragments out and no problems now.

Yes, I cleaned the carb before installing. But, no, I havent' checked the reed valve yet. Was yours stuck open? I will check it then start again.
