WELL, WHADDA YA THINK?
Image

I have no idea what year it is. If anybody knows how to read the SN, please tell me. Paint is much better than I remembered. It was extremely hot Saturday and I wasn't in much mood for perusal. Today was much cooler and I did my inspection in the shade.

This much I do know.
I didn't pull the plastic, but while pulling plug and checking compression, I surmised the AF18E is very similar to the AF16E. Dan said he thinks the 18 is a tweaked 16. I think he's right.
Fuel tank is under the floorboard. Gigantic trunk space under the seat.
Hydraulic disk brakes on front.
Japanese (I think) writing in several places.
Speedometer is kph. max 60. That calculates out to 37 mph.
It's got more torque/power than my SA50 with Polini.

I'm not exactly sure but I think the crank may be longer? The shaft part that extends into the kicker case is longer, which makes sense since it has a zx trans, with a wider pulley boss.

Although I could be totally wrong :P

P.S. I would love to have one of those. Headset, disk brakes, and coolness.

How can you tell? SN begins with AF28.
Any idea of its worth? I'm wondering how good a deal I got.

if it says af28 than its newer.maybe 94-98.That body is the same as the dio zx.If you can get it legal, the bike can sell for around $1600-$2300 depending on condition of the bike.

Not a problem on legal in Missouri on 50cc. No requirements for title, no registration, no inspection , no insurance, no MC endorsement on license. It's basically classified as a moped. But it does have to have running lights.

Decals say "Dio SR". Condition is strong overall but could use paint. If you are correct on its worth, I stole it. But I got a Bill of Sale, so it's a legal theft.

If you can get a title for it than your good to go but its not as easy as you think. Here in the US if it doesn't have the standard 17 number vin they usually give problems unless you know someone at the dmv that can get you around the loop holes. plus the bike is not older than 25yrs so even harder.

No requirements on 50cc in Missouri. It's treated like a moped, no title, no registration, no inspection. Only requirement is must be street legal. You can still be stopped for defective or lack of lighting.

In fact, I tried to get the Elite E registered, since I had a legit IL title that would transfer, and DMV didn't know what to do with me. Office manager called Jeff City and they didn't know either. All I wanted was to update proof of ownership. All I have is the IL title signed over to me.

So does this have a rear disc brake?

The OP mentioned to me that the case has AF18e stamped on it.
