I am not asking for a magic answer. I figure I can post questions and rammble about my progress and maybe someone may mention something I may have overlooked. I am not begging for help. I dont think you know as much as you claim to know and I really dont NEED any particular advice from you I was just being courteous to consider what you were saying. I am not trying to copy anyone else's build. I am sure if I was hanging on every thing you said you would have a different attitude

Nah im just tellin you da truth. Im not telling to run a huge 28mm. Im telling you to get a 24 and a better pipe and your set up will be alot quicker. Try the 8.44:1 gears and 8s and 9s with some polini natural springs with your 1.5k center. Its a really nice combo. What kind of oil did you put in the gear case

According to the gear chart you need to be revving to 8k just to go 50mph. Get a tach and see how high your revving your bore up to. A gear change to 8.44:1 will give you 5 mph more top speed at 8k

The rev limit on your bore is 7800. Your gearing according to the chart wont allow you to go past 50. I doubt that pipe is letting the bore rev all the way up to redline anyways. If you want to see a better top speed switch to the 8.44:1 and 24mm. Look at the gear chart if you dont believe me

lack of hp and rpm like a retreated cdi box it wood not get the max rpm to get max speed... and it wood lose power at a lower rpm .. im gussing of cors but by the photo i stole from here hes doing about 7500 rpm thats if the variator is working right

there is two side of timing ...

If you believe what patrick (daywot) says.

corsa = 11.7 redline 9500rpm

contesta = 11.7 redline 7800rpm

Corsa kit offers a 9mph faster top speed than the standard Polini contesta kit. It is factory hand ported and has much higher rev potential (this accounts for the higher top speed).

:D I washed the pod filter with gas and apparently it was pretty dirrty since I lived on a gravel road. I figured since it was that dirty I might as well up the main to 100 with clip in the middle 49mph at about 1/4th mile or less not sure exactly. thanks for that suggestion guen :D I think I am about done for today. I need to find a flat str8 half mile run. Might try to go to up to 103 and see what that does the next time I take her out maybe try the 7g weights too also definately want to get some 8.44s. I agree with you King that I need the taller gears and better pipe

Those rpm #s that day noted is NOT the rev limit the bore will do. Its where peak hp is made at for that bore. It will rev much higher then that after it reaches its peak hp range. The corsa tops out at around 11.3k and the contessa is about 9900. But that doesn't mean it will match the rpm to speed on the speed calculator. You also neeed torque to get that speed also which a 72cc doesn't. On average is minus about 5-7mph of what the speed calculator says and that's max what you will see given that everything is matched and tuned to optimum running condition by air/fuel ratio,egt temp and cht temp. In most case for a non pro tunner like most on here,minus another 3to5mph.

Did you have a new belt on there?

not a new belt but it is still well within spec I measured it with calipers. Though when I get some extra cash I will get me a kevlar belt. It probably has about 500 miles on it Gates powerlink. I think a 5mph gain in a days time is pretty swell. I appreciate all the suggestions. It would be a lot easier if I had a tach and temp gauge. Also when I got home from this last run my plug cap had almost vibrated all the way out I dont even see how it was running hahhaha My goal is 50-55 cruise and 60 WOT and I rarely hold WOT for longer than a few minutes makes me nervous :D
