Maybe, but I didnt use it for that.
When I was replacing the bearings in the final drive unit/gearbox (a sealed tye of bearing), one was so naft that the inner race popped out and the outer race was left behind, it was in a blind whole so I could not tap it out with a punch, so I very carefully welded a big washer to it and stuck the slide hammer on it, it came out easy as...
pulling crank pulleys off car engines the slide hammer is king, causes less damage, they are awesome at pulling out cv joints and beam axels too, better than using pry bars and screw type puller kits...

X2 on the final drive. Also handy for stuck rims. The blind hole should not be a sealed bearing.

you are right, I just suck at explaining things, I meant a sealed type as its not a tapper type with a separate race. the actual bearing replacements I had were sealed bearings with the seals removed, if you catch my drift.......

If you pulled the seals, they are the same.
New tool idea, dental style picks for pulling seals and o-rings out of grooves.
