Dont waste time porting that 50mm jug or matching the boost port or touching the intake window. Tune it correctly and run that cylinder until it craps out. Then go buy a mhr or corsa and match the boost port to that if you have to. Intake porting is hard to do and takes porting 3-4 blocks before you can really do it properly. In my honest opinion i wouldnt touch the block unless you have to. The corsa boost port is pretty close to stock its a bit bigger but not as big as the mhr or the 50mm. Bigger isnt always better. Its all about how clean your job is.

I am looking for a old jug that has good porting done on it. I will be happy to pay for it.

Back to work here.

Delta Clutch, Wing Bell, and belt installed. No more slip.
Image
I also got the net met rim on back with a kenda 453 90/90-10 sport tire
Image
The process of putting the tire on the metro rim took about 10 minutes, this was my 1st time installing a tire on a rim. I just used some soap and warm water and 3 flat head screw drivers and some common sense. This looked like a monkey doing a football im sure but I got it done.
(other than about 1000+ bicycle tires when I worked assembling them)
Image I did not realize the old baskets were designed to fit two 1 gallon milk jugs.

So I was taking the old rear rack off and notice that the studs where getting flattened from taking it on and off so many times in the past. Idid the right thing and cleaned the threads out with a die.. What a difference it made. Image

New Speed record today on a decline with the new PG Short pipe on it!!!! Thanks Wheelman, I love it Image

Note:

I had really high temps when going up hill. I think this pipe likes a bit more main jet than the v8 required.

Greetings:

Good Heavens, the Holy Grail!! 72MPH on 72ccs. Congratulations!! Sure some will criticize the "decline", but how many speed boasts do you think were generated UPhill?

Thanks Wheelman and Ped. I have to admit that I do not have 72cc though. This bore is the 50mm thai bore from Autotech355, no boost port match, 7.5 gears, 90/90 tires, and a grin on my face. My corsa will be next, I will run the PG long on that one and gonna switch all my rides to 9-1 gears. I think the 7.5s might be a bit tall.

Greetings:

Consider 7.97 and 8.44s between your 7.5s and the 9s. I feel the 9:1s are good for stock-ish power, but too short for anything more.

This is a good example of the fact that the boost port doesnt have to be opened up! Ive been telling people for years that you dont "have" to match the boost port. Some people still believe the motor will fry if you dont match it.

Well Done

Keith

Thanks Keith,

I really was not comfortable doing the boost port match back then. I would do it today if I did another. But Maybe the increase crank pressure is not a bad thing. I am interested to see what a corsa feels like compared to the tai 50 bore. I hope it spanks it. One of these days I will find out, too bad I am the only person in my county with a sr 50.
