from my experience, if the battery is shot, it will hold a 12 volt charge for like 20 minutes, the alternater will power the scooter while its running, but when you try to start it, your most likely gonna have to jump it.. i suggest saving yourself the trouble and buyin a new battery.

Most batteries will last 2-3yrs. if you get a new one buy a trickle charger, this will charge it slow instead of a fast charge which most moped shops do, it only melts the lead plates together.

im a tad bit worried myself, i spent 30$ on a brand new battery, and accidentally charged it overnight on 6V then the next morning i switched it to 12V for a few hours, i hope this wont affect it badly..

even though i tried to start it for few minutes and it started slower, and slower, until it was just a click and i had to jump it....

just charge it overnight again on a 12v trickle charge, that outa do the trick.

- 6V won't hurt a 12V battery, but won't charge it either. Might run it down though.
- If you have 6 little holes on top, it's 12V (about 2V per cell). If you have 3 it's 6V. Only Harley (and old ones) to my knowledge use these. Very rare.
- 500 mA will charge the battery over several hours. 1.5 - 2 Amp will charge it in about 1 hour, and can overcharge it at that amperage. Look at the charge amperage rating when you use it.
