who ever has a 85 spree where does that green wire thats coming from the frame by the brake light connect to?

Greetings:

Eight-Oh-Eight, can't be positive about your Spree but solid green goes to Ground on every other Honda I've seen. Under any handy frame bolt should be fine. Mouse?

is it just plain green or green with a black stripe? just green is a ground. green with bl stripe is the wire coming off the resistor.

i no its a ground so does it connect to the green with black stripe that is on the wire harness ? and for the back blinkers i see a light blue wire and a orange wire i no thats for the blinkers but is there supposed to be a ground that goes with it cuz i dont see one i never used back blinkers on my other sprees before and trying to hook that up .

The responders are all correct. Bunch of smart folks there

Green - no stripe is frame ground. Green/Black stripe is to the resistor side of the bystarter. Given the bystarter's other end is tied to AC from the Stator Headlight coil, hooking the taillight ground would impact taillight brightness, and bystarter warm up.

Here are marked up schematics:

your rear turn signals do not have a ground "wire." they use the metal from the rear rack which is bolted to the frame as ground.
if you've omitted your rack, simply run a wire from your signals to the nearest ground you can find.

the orange wire is the positive for both front and rear left turn signals(blue is for the right side).
if you look on the front, the front signals have 2 wires each, one is blue and green the other is orange and green.
both green wires plug into the main ground, the other 2 go to the respective positives.

basically the ground goes from battery (-) to everything else at some point.

ok thanks everybody thats all i wanted to no cuz i no i seen the main ground wire for the front blinkers but for the back i did not see anything so if the groung is build into the rear rack all i need to connect is to the wire harness is the orange,light blue, for the blinkers and brown,green,and green with yellow stripe for the brake right but will mess with it today and see what happens

yep you got it. but like i said, if you're not using the rack, you'll need to ground the turn signals another way.

I had the same question. PO removed the rack and I wound up with one extra ground wire.

just went put all new bulbs and still nothing i using the rack and still nothing working not even my lights by the gauges is turning on this is iratating could it be cuz my batt is close to dead ? but when i turn the key on my gas gauge moves

if your bike starts, and is running, your lights should be running off the alternator not the battery. okay, your fuel gauge is on because it runs from the battery to the ignition then to gauge via black and green wires there is a y/w wire that runs to the sensor.

w/o seeing whats going on, i dont know what else to tell you.

check your turn signal relay.
if thats not it...make sure your turn signal switch is wired up properly


one more question to help diagnostics... do the front signals work?

ya can move em but back to the front blinkers no it does not work to but i just put in a h4 bulb for my headlights and now thats working fine wal mart 10 dollars

then my bet is on your blinker relay.
like i said. check the switch too.
