well as you people know i am the owner of a spree with specilly made hp parts that allow me to go 40-45. well latly i have been encountering my engine not suntting off when the kill swich is turned. or when the key is pulled out. it just keeps running until i let go of the trottle rev it a couple time so it goes to and idle. adn then once i compleatly stop it will die after 1 more rev. whats the problem i alredy put in a new harness kill swich and ignition. why is it doing this to me!!!

not running high enough octane in the gas. that's what happends when a high compression car runs on low octane it wont shut off.

or... you can check spark with the switches turned off. if it has spark then its a wiring problem.

could it be that the compression is so high, and the spark plug, or the whole cylinder is so hot, that its kind of running like a glo plug in a diesel. Or like in 2 stroke airplane engines- rc engines.
if its running really hot, and it gets the spark plug tang red or white hot, i'd think that with enough compression it would fire, making an endless cycle like a deisel.
just a thought - you should pull the plug and see if its messed up -

If you've already made some modifications, thing into an airbox kill. My father's old boat with diesels has a push/pull that you can engage to shut off the airbox and thus kill the engine if the motor will not turn off. You could even pinch the fuel or vacuum lines too. No air or no fuel = no run.

next time it does it, pull the spark plug boot off. i still think its an ignition problem.

If it's staying running then it's dieselling, which means the jug/head are running way too hot. Try running a colder plug to see if that helps (look for the "extended operation" plug in the service manual.) If that doesn't fix it you need to play with your jetting to get the temps down b/f you have a meltdown.

Your fan shroud is in place, right?
