just wondering what you guys think about this product before i purchase it. how does the speedometer hook up because i know my friends koso digital gauge requires putting magnets into the disc rotor, and does the spark plug sensor for the cht hook up properly?

Best bang for the buck gauge period. The magnet for the speedo is best mounted on a 90deg tire valve stem cap. The rotor spacing for our bikes is a bit tight and the magnet will hit the leg. You will need to extend the rpm pickup wire and cht wire by using speaker wire. Make sure you get the vapor kit for a yamaha blaster. That kit comes with a cht sensor. Been using my vapor for over 4yrs now with no issues.

so the magnetic pick up will work on a honda elite s with the basic drum brakes as long as i run the sensor in the path of the 90degree valve? this is one of the things im curious about if this unit work for non disc.

This is what traffic jamz did, I just coppied it somewhat. Its magnet is just sitting on the lip of the rim with out any glue and it is working just fine, amazingly! Yes, yamaha blaster kit.

anyone know how to hook up the rpm sensor on this gauge? just got mine in today and hooking things up as i type.

The TT tach pickup is 2 wires. Red wire - few wraps around the coil wire. The black ties to ground.

Your going to need to extend that pickup wire. You can use speaker wire for that. After you wrap the wire around the plug wire, use electrical tape to hold the wire in place. Then your good to go. Had mine like that for almost 4yrs now.

You could also try reading the detailed instructions. I think it says 5 wraps is all you need on the coil wire. Too many messes up the reading. It is adjustable but I remember 5 wraps.

really? I have never heard of that.

This setup worked but vibrations from the engine would cause inaccurate mph output from the vapor.

so make sure to brace the arm that holds the magnetic sensor.

the magnet on the wheel should be glued on......Not gluing it on will result in the magnet flinging off at very high speed.

Or if you do not want to glue onto your wheel you can degrease the surface, place magnet in position and 'tape' it down with some aluminium tape. Be sure to cut about an 1" each side and squeeze all of the air out etc. This is how weights are attached to the nose wheel of an ATR72 airplane when they are balanced.

The only issue is wouldnt know were to buy it in the states or how much it is.

I like that mount traffic, and the gauge. I think I will get one for my red elite.

thanks for the info didnt want to believe the instructions cause it looked odd to just wrap the coil with wire and i rather have input from people that have this kit on their bikes. now the last thing, could someone tell me the settings to put into the gauge so i can have the most accurate reading possible, my tire is a 3.00x10 irc on a elite s rim. if not i guess ill try to enter it in as best i can. ill have pictures up when completed.

Im assuming those need a power source like a battery ?

gauge itself has a on board battery "replaceable" and/or go to the battery or anywhere that has power running through. lovin this gauge cause it has a warning light to tell me where my motor is getting hot and a another steady light to show the danger zone. all can be set to the temps you want but the temp warning maxed out at 399
