Hello I'm looking into a 21mm OKO carb and intake with reeds and was wondering if anybody had any preference on pod filters or angles of attachment?
Also I would like any input on where I should start with jetting for my stock bore? specs below
86 aero 50
To be ported out intake
90/90 rear
Malossi Wild Lion pipe
Ruck Vari shimmed with 6.3 rollers/ might go to 4-5g
Premix and de oil pumped
And upgrading clutch springs and center to 1000-1500.
Thanks guys

Greetings:
Please be advised that the CT and other manifolds meant for the 16-series engines don't bolt straight on to the AF05 Aero engines. The width of the case intake port is about an eighth-inch greater than that of the manifold, leaving a gap that must be obstructed by a custom-fabbed plate. The hole distances are the same, but gotta plug that gap.
If you successfully attach the CT manifold, the carb may foul the low-hanging Aero left bodywork panel, requiring a difficult esthetic decision. Whatever you do, please don't commit the sacrilege of simply cutting away the impinging panel. I have experimented with using a heat gun to soften the ABS material, then creating a "Power Bulge" that might embrace the protruding carbage.

It ruins the paint, but that's fairly easy to remedy. I abandoned the Aero project before getting it done, so no certainty that it works. Still I hope this helps you.

Thanks Wheelman yup read all about the plate in the tech docs. Haven't made mine yet but got my 1/8 in plate ready to measure up. Dropping my engine tomorrow to start porting the intake manifold and get her ready.

Greetings:
Do make sure that block-off plate is dead-flat and double-check the seal integrity at all junctions. Because the manifold angles off to Port, the plate must be structurally pretty strong and the bolts tight. Otherwise gaps can open up due to the unsuspended engine bouncing on troubled tarmac. The weight of the Left-Leaning carb mechanically wants to open up gaps on the right. I hope this makes sense to you. Air inhaled here going over bumps at speed can be costly.
This is one place where it might be OK to use goo instead of gaskets to minimize the extra height due to the thickness of the paper in additon to the eighth-inch plate. If you do that, Lap everything on a flat surface until all the mating surfaces are true and unblemished. The carb has to be as low and tucked-in as possible for any chance of getting plastic side panel to embrace it.

Thanks I was actually thinking about using the gasket maker instead of papers anyway so now I will thank you.
Ordered a UNI 4in pod filter, that and carb should be here by about Wednesday.
I also would like to source a red oko throttle cable?
Next question were should I start with jetting? I don't have jets so I will be ordering kits would so a range would be nice. Kinda pricy so I would like to just get maybe a 5 pack of pilots and mains

It's been my experience that the ideal jet for your carb will be among the ones you failed to order...

I received my 21mm oko today with a compleat and perfect ct chrome mani. Reeds look fresh. Might not have been used. Had fresh gaskets at each gap. The guy I got it from said he never mounted it but he didn't get it new either. Came with a mesh air filter as well I won't be using it tough. The UNI pod should be in tomorrow.
The carb came with a 42 pilot and 103 main. I haven't ordered kits yet guess ill se where I'm at first and see what to get?
I'm waiting on daywot to respond on a green or red oko throttle cable. Looks like he's gone away according to eBay. O well it is winter in these parts anyway I guess.
I made a plate today in anticipation of the carb showing up today was about right but a little thin on the outer edge. Should just wayside for it to get here. I will be making another I'm the morning.
Couple pics of my port job as well only my second go at it so take it easy lol.
Thanks guys
