Ok so basically I took the kickstart apart and I put everything together I could kick down but the kickstart won't return to its original position it gets stuck then I have to take it apart again to reset it but the gears looks good

Did you clean it and lube it? Also make sure the spring is on properly. When you have the cover off you need to push the kicker with your hand (while keeping your thumb in the center of the bendix gear so it doesn't come out) and see where/why it hanging up...

Make sure you are using the correct paper gasket from honda, or you can make one.
It gives it the correct spacing.

well i just found out im missing two bushings one for the small gear and one that goes on the out side of the case i should probably get a gasket to

there is no need for the gasket ...

Yeah, that gasket sometimes is an issue, but usually it's a problem for the electric starter.

Y'see, that little Bendix is in there pretty snug. Without a gasket, cranking down the cover pinches its little shaft end-to-end, and can prevent it from spinning. The kickstarter has a little more leeway, but if you run a fat pulley boss or non-stock outer pulley, the kicker castle can catch and grind on the outer pulley.

I've personally encountered both of these issues. Using stock parts, it's a good idea to use the stock gasket, or make one from paper supplied by your Auto-Parts store.

I've encountered the same issue I've read the link as well but for some reason I cant get the kick-start on right my gears are in decent shape and it worked perfectly before i took it apart, I scraped off the old gasket so I'm going to get a new one but i also noticed that my electric starter Bendix will get lose and start rubbing the starter driven gear Am I missing bushings and what bushings were you referring to nyranger, also i noticed that before i took it apart the kick start was firm on the tranny cover now its kinda loose like if the spring is not tensioning right? Spreeinkc if you could post a video of yourself dissembling and reassembling the kick start with the mentioned procedure that would be most helpful Ill post pics to show what i mean.
