I put Technigas pipe on my stock de-restricted 2001 Elite.

I had already put in an 85 main jet. So I did a trial run. Got 380-390 with a max temp of

NOT GOOD

So I ordered this drill bit set from Amazon

And I found this chart about drill bit sizes compared to measurement of inches and mm

The last number is the metric equivalent of the drill bit size. So a #65 drill bit is about the same size as a 89 main jet.

I tried this

And installed the drilled out jet and rode the bike again. I got temps of 375- 380 and a max of 397.

Better but still too hot if I want the engine to last. So I tried again and drilled the main jet out with a #64 drill bit. That is approximately equal to a 91 main jet.

Took a ride again, and each time I rode a couple of miles at wide open throttle and climbed a long steep hill.

This time I got temps of 340-350 with a max temp 376. I'm calling that GOOD. It was about 70 degrees outside but I think I'm in the safe zone enough to be good for Summer.

If you don't want to spend $10 for each jet and then wait for it to come in you might want to try my method.

It did work !

Greetings:

I got the Harbor Freight version. Micrometered each bit and drilled accordingly. Be careful not to wobble.

Warmer ambient air makes the engine run cooler. Very counterintuitive I know, but there's less O2 per unit volume, so combustion mixture is richer, cooler. Also slower.
