17hp OHV 4 stroke mower problems

Got a newer mower as the last one blew its drive shaft and a $100 used mower beats buying over $100 in parts to fix the old one. Anyways it mowed our 1 acre yard without an problems then we started it a few ours later to move some logs and it was hydrolocked so i removed the sparkplug and cranked it over to blow over a cup of gas out of it. It ran fine and the logs got moved. To fix tis magical flooding problem we simply pinched off the fuel line with a pair of vice grips.
Up until this point the engine ran great started easy and the oil remained a nice honey color. Today i started it up to mow the lawn it took me a good 5 minutes to start the motor and then i had a very hard time keeping it running for the first 30seconds. I dropped the deck and engaged it the engine started blowing blue smoke everywhere i ran it like this for 40ft and shut it down which made a huge cloud of white smoke. the plug was black and oily and the oil was noticeably darker, there was also smoke in the crankcase
.
What do you guys think happened? I think it might have blown a ring.
