anyone know where I could buy a new horn online..I'm thinking something different than the high pitched normal horn..The problem is I can't find any, although I haven't done much searching. The reason why is because my horn only works under a certain tempurature and doesn't when it is warmer and I want a working horn but thing something different would be kinda neat lol

Pretty much any 12V horn will work. The problem is, space to mount it is extremely limted without significant modification.

i helped rewire a stereo system in a jeep once, for his base we put a Yamaha jog horn. every time the base 'hit' it honked. it was funner then *.
thinking back im wondering if a small speaker would work as a horn. if so how would it sound?

as for your question I have no clue

autoparts store should have a variety of horns. if you are local to a junkyard just go out and check all the cars for em... find one thats small... place in pocket... free horn.

I installed a 120 db ooga horn in my elite-s, scares the crap out of old people who can't drive anyway:lol:

So my horn ended up dieing today and I'm looking online for a cheap horn..I usually can't tell how many prong thingys there are and the elite one has one prong (so one wire that connects to the horn..green I believe) what would I do If I got a two pronged horn by accident?

I'd explain what I meant by prongs but I'm hoping someone understands what I'm talking about because I can't explain it all to well

the second is jsut a ground. the elite uses its case as a ground, but most horns use a ground wire mount.

It wouldn't sound like a horn. It would just make a single pop when you pressed the button. A horn isn't a speaker.

it had 2 prongs, and a speaker has 2 wires. i set it up like i would a speaker. it just 'greeee' noise. when the base hit it would honk. i swear. get a yamaha jog horn and try it your self.

its bass, hahah and yea, we got bored so we mounted up a howler horn to my freinds moped. it was ran by dropping in on the the tire and that would spin the inpeller makeing noise

duh..that makes sense..I was wondering why it was sparking were the bolt held it on lol

I'd like to get this air horn..139 decibles and can be heard from 3 blocks away..its only 40 bucks too

anyway thanks myspree..after seeing a new one from honda was $25 and seeing some for $5 but having two prongs i didn't want to go to the honda one

I'm sure it worked, but that is when you wire a horn to a speaker output, not a speaker to a horn output.

A horn just works off of electrical current. Just about any current will do provided it is enough to move the element inside. A speaker works via a modulated electrical signal where the varying frequency of the electrical signal makes the speaker create sounds of varying frequencies.

A horn is designed to create a sound of only one frequency and as such does not need a modulated signal. That's why the horn in your story still just honked and did not create the other sounds in the music.

is there some special way to adjust these? Mine has a adjustable bolt where the nut goes on that can be brought in or out and I can get it to work occassionally but once I set it back up it won't work again..just curious, either way I'll be buying a new one today but would like a partial horn at the least concidering people don't know how to drive
