hey, just looking for some easy non-bore kit mods.
I heard that changing the stock CDI for a free reving CDI will increase the top speed, is it true?
Also i heard that drilling a hole in part of the muffler will help increase power, what part do you drill it in?

I know for a fact that drilling a hole in the muffler impproves torque and top speed (minutly). THe point is to drill out the restriction plate that only lets a certain amount of airflow out. the more airflow going out the more power ur gonna get.

As for the CDI, I have no idea. I saw them on ebay. something about unlocking your engine. I'm not sure. looks promising! but get a second opinion.

To a point. 2 strokes need backpressure to operate. When there is positive pressure in the cylinder the pressure is released to the exhaust and is prevented from going back into the carb by the reed valve. When there is negative pressure in the cylinder, gas filled air should be sucked in through the reed valve and not the exhaust. If the backpressure on the exhaust too low, the engine will pull too much air from the exhaust port and not enough from the intake port, and the engine will run lean or not run at all.

Drilling into the baffles will also make the scooter louder. Not a big deal, but if you prefer quieter it may not be the best option.

You shove a long drill bit in the back hole where the exhaust comes out, drill 2 restrictions. What do you have?

how would you increase the top speed most effectively on a Elite SA50?

Did you drill out the washer in the front of the exhaust pipe and take out the spacer plate on the front clutch?

i did drill out the muffler, but not the clutch, how do you do that to the clutch?

Take the covers off the clutch and unbolt the front clutch. On the back of the inner race there is a plate with 3 6mm bolts holding it on. Unbolt the plate and toss it aside. Reassemble. There is a thread on here about it.

dude i got one word...

Gears!

8.44:1 gears! Right now im running 8.44:1 gears in my bike (same motor as yours) with great results. The take off is still good and the top speed is allot higher.

See, i had a 72cc bore and gears. But i blew up more bore kit. So i left the gears and put my stock cylinder back on. The bike still has good take off and the top speed is d*** near 50mph (given it takes some time to get up to top speed).
