my engine dies out at wot, it's really annoying when your bike can't show its full potential, does anybody know what this could be?

Its either lean or rich. if you hold your hand over the air intake holes and it runs better its lean, if it runs without an air filter/cover its rich.

i just covered the air intake hole in the air cleaner housing and it runs great!, so, what do i have to do to fix the lean fuel mixture ( i have a stock 68 jet), and the carb has been cleaned about 5 times.

Plug the choke back in and fix it the correct way, use an unlit propane torch to check for leaks.

i can't find a leak with the torch, the engine doesn't even rev up when i put the torch straight into the air filter box. Is there anything else that i can do?
