well last week it was running great 30 miles an hour full bore ,,,idlin runnin strong,, i just put a brand new air filter in... last night it was runnin but would bog down every now n then.....today it doesnt even want to start up. the guy i bought it from said it was just sitting in his garage for a few years, so i still need to clean the carb out, but what puzzles me is last week it ran strong and now it doesnt want to start.
Think i might need a new plug considering its been sitting a few years?

Drain the gas tank and clean the filter.
Put new gas in it.
Drain oil and change oil to Honda GN2 oil.
Check gear oil.
New spark plug.

That would be a good start.
See what happens...I would eventually rebuild the carb.
After awhile I would de-carbonize your muffler.

Double check your tire pressure while your at it.

oil the air filter, could be running lean, do a plug chop.

Clean carb and oil airfilter, dirt gets in the carb and when it floats in a hole bad things happen.

sounds like you need to clean your carb

if i were to get a new scooter a short list of things i would do to make it reliable

change spark plug
drain gas tank and add fresh gas
change fuel lines
add an inline fuel filter
clean carb and put new gaskets in it
clean out the muffler
decorbonize the exhaust port

start with cleaning your carb and changing the spark plug..... and new gas

yes thanks for the great advice, well i got it with no gas in it so it has fresh in it already... but im going to have to drain and fill the oil, ill also invest in a plug,, then if no go ill clean the carb and get around to decarbonizing the muffler eventually....a plug chop is just changing the plug right? and when i clean the carb should i just take it apart and soak it in somthin like WD-40? if somone could explain it that would be great!!
Thanks for the fast help also

You dont need to drain the oil unless it isnt 2 stroke injector oil.

a plug chop is where you run it at wide open throttle for a stretch, shut it down right away, then either then, or when it cools a bit, take the plug out and check the color of it

you need to use carb cleaner on the carb, wd-40 wouldn't work very well. Theres a how to in the tech documents. Make sure not to get carb cleaner on the gaskets, and make sure you don't poke anything in the little holes

Just go slow and be gentle, dont stick anything in the holes.
